Make a Huge Difference, One Mini Masterpiece at a Time

All tiny donated artworks sold in the Art Mart support OMA's education initiatives. That's 100% of proceeds going toward bringing powerful, transformative, arts-based experiences to thousands of students each year!

There’s A Tiny New Part of the Art Mart This Year…. A Virtual Auction!

By popular demand, Teeny Tiny is adding something new this year... a hand-selected group of 25 Teeny Tinies will be offered through a three-week virtual auction, right at the top of the beloved fixed-price sale you know and love. These carefully selected works have been chosen by a staff committee to reflect a range of media and artists. This limited pilot invites collectors to engage a little differently—bidding on exceptional small works to further support the same vibrant educational programs OMA offers to inspire the next generation. With bidding starting at $25 each, the auction adds a note of excitement and possibility to an already iconic event.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! This pilot effort will be informed by community feedback and will be evaluated after the sale to see if it can be expanded next year. Please share your thoughts to tiny@oma-online.org.

1. Can I return my purchase?

All sales are final.

2. Why does the sale site use auction language? Am I bidding on the artwork?

This year the Teeny Tiny Art Mart is a sale AND an auction!

25 artworks will be clearly listed as AUCTION items starting at $25, with bid increments of $10. All other artworks can be purchased at a BUY NOW price of $25 plus taxes and fees (see FAQ 11 below).

Anyone registered for the Art Mart will be able to both bid on or buy artworks. BUY NOW artworks are first-come, first-served - once you purchase the artwork, it is yours and cannot be purchased or bid on by anyone else.

All artworks are listed in the same place - Click on "Art Mart" at the top of this page to access both AUCTION items and BUY NOW items.

3. How do I only see auction items? Or only Buy Now items? Or only items that are still available?

When you are logged into your unique buyer's page, in the upper left part of the page you'll see "Browse Items" and in the center of the page you'll see "Item Categories". Click on either of those to filter the works you'd like to see: Auction, Buy Now, items still available, items you've bid on, items you've purchased, etc.

4. How do I know if an item is an auction item?

Auction items will be clearly indicated in multiple ways:

  • The top left corner of the image will have a call-out that says AUCTION ITEM
  • The title of the item will say AUCTION ITEM
  • When you click on the item you will see a bright pink BID button
  • If you want to see only Auction Items or only Buy Now items, when you log into your guest page click on "All Categories" at the top of the page and select the category you want.

5. Why are some works auctioned and others not?

When we decided to try an auction this year, it was important to do so without disrupting the spirit of the sale that so many artists and collectors love. Rather than reshaping the entire program, we chose to keep the fixed-price model intact and introduce a small, carefully selected group of works as a pilot. This allows us to experiment thoughtfully, honor the charm of the original format, and explore new ways to grow support for our education initiatives—while keeping Teeny Tiny, at its heart, the same community-driven celebration it has always been.

6. How do I find out if I won an Auction item?

The auction will close at 5:00pm, Sunday, February 22. You will receive a notification from the BetterUnite platform if you are the winner on an item at that time.

7. Can I still buy non-auction Tinies immediately?

Yes, all other Tinies will be sold in the same way as previous years - at a flat price of $25 per artwork plus taxes and fees (see details in question 11 below).

8. What happens if I'm outbid at the last minute?

If you’re outbid before the auction closes, the work will go to the highest bidder at the close of the sale. We encourage bidders to keep an eye on their bids as the closing date approaches, or to use the auto-bid feature, which allows you to set your maximum bid in advance. Auto-bidding helps ensure you stay competitive without needing to monitor the auction constantly, especially in the final moments.

9. Tell me more about the auto-bid option?

You have the option to set a max bid so that you don't have to keep out bidding your competitors. Click into the auction item you want and select the "set max-bid". You can then determine any amount for the maximum you're willing to pay for this item. We will automatically place bids on your behalf up to this maximum amount.

10. Is this fundraiser entirely virtual?

Yes! The virtual sale and auction of work will start at 6:00pm on Sunday, February 1. Artwork must be paid for via BetterUnite's secure check out system. Artwork cannot be purchased in person at OMA until after the fundraiser closes at 5:00pm on February 22.

11. A "fees" charge is on my receipt. What are the fees?

  • Credit card processing fees of approximately 1.5-3.5% per transaction, depending on the type of card used
  • BetterUnite Platform fees of 2.5% per transaction
  • Sales tax of 8.25% on all purchased goods

12. What shape and size is the artwork?

The external dimensions of the artwork are an exact 5 inch by 5 inch square.

13. Can I preview the artwork before I buy it?
Yes! Go to the sale page here. Click on each item’s photo or title to expand the image and learn more about the artwork.

Artwork will also be on display at OMA starting Wednesday, January 28 at OMA and throughout the sale during regular museum hours: Wednesdays-Sundays 11:00am-5:00pm.

14. Does the artwork have hanging hardware on the back?

Some artworks are framed and/or ready to hang, but not all. Email tiny@oma-online.org if you have questions about specific artworks.

We encourage you to pick up your artwork from OMA in person. Artwork can be picked up at OMA starting Wednesday, February 4, during OMA’s regular business hours: Wednesdays-Sundays, 11:00am-5:00pm.
