Be the first friendly face guests see as they arrive at Second Chance Prom! Volunteers in this role will help welcome attendees and ensure a smooth check-in process. 

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests with a warm welcome as they arrive

• Locate and confirm attendee names on the guest list

• Distribute event materials as needed

• Answer basic event questions and direct guests throughout the venue space

• Provide a positive and professional first impression of the event

• Timeframe: 6:45 PM – 7:30 PM

Our Raffle Ticket Hype People will mingle with Prom guests throughout the evening, sell raffle tickets, and—most importantly—get people excited about participating! We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to approach guests, show off the prizes, encourage a little friendly FOMO, and help us sell as many tickets as possible to raise money for Mending Spirits Animal Rescue.

Perfect for someone who is: energetic, friendly, comfortable approaching people, a little persuasive, and ready to have fun while raising money for rescue animals.

We'll provide the tickets and details—you bring the personality!

Shift Details:

• Timeframe:7:00 PM – 9:00PM

Help bring the magic of Second Chance Prom to life! Volunteers in this role will assist with transforming the venue into a beautiful, welcoming space for our guests. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with unloading and organizing décor and supplies

• Set up tables, chairs, and event signage

• Help decorate with centerpieces, lighting, and themed accents

• Follow direction from the event leads to ensure the space is set up according to plan

• Tidy and prepare the venue to be guest-ready 

Shift Details:

• Timeframe: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Location: Sky One Eleven, Mankato, MN

• Physical Requirements: May include light lifting, bending, and moving items around the venue

Be the go-to helpers for anything that comes up during Second Chance Prom. Volunteers in this role will assist with a variety of tasks, fill in where needed, and keep the event running smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities:

• Step in to support different areas (check-in, photo op, silent auction, décor adjustments, etc.) as needed

• Monitor event flow and help address any guest questions or needs

• Assist staff and event leads with unexpected tasks or last-minute adjustments

• Be a flexible, dependable presence to ensure smooth operations throughout the night

• Timeframe: 6:30 PM – 8:30PM

• Location: Sky One Eleven, Mankato, MN 

• Skills Needed: Flexible, quick-thinking, approachable, comfortable taking direction 

We're looking for a volunteer photographer to capture the people, energy, and memorable moments that make Second Chance Prom such a special night. Photos will be used by Mending Spirits Animal Rescue to celebrate the event, thank our supporters, and help promote future fundraising events.

Our photographer will move throughout the venue capturing a mix of candid moments and event highlights, including guest arrivals and outfits, dancing, Prom Royalty, volunteers, sponsors, décor, activities, and all the fun happening throughout the evening.

Prom begins at 7:00 p.m. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes early to get familiar with the space and lighting before guests arrive. 

Required Skills

• Comfortable photographing people and capturing candid moments
• Must provide and be comfortable operating your own camera and photography equipment
• Comfortable working with varying and lower indoor lighting conditions
• Able to move throughout the venue and proactively identify moments worth capturing
• Friendly, respectful, and comfortable interacting with event guests
• Dependable and able to remain for the full three-hour shift

We ask that the photographer provide Mending Spirits Animal Rescue with a digital collection of the event photos following Prom for use in social media, fundraising, event promotion, and other rescue communications. 

Help us wrap up a successful Second Chance Prom by assisting with event clean-up and packing. Volunteers in this role will make sure the venue is cleared, décor is safely stored, and everything is left in great condition.

Responsibilities:

• Take down décor and signage

• Pack up decorations, supplies, and event materials

• Assist with moving items back into storage or vehicles

• Ensure the venue is tidy and reset according to requirements

• Follow direction from event leads for efficient clean-up

Shift Details:

• Timeframe: Saturday, October 3rd 8am to 9:30am

• Location: Sky One Eleven, Mankato, MN

• Physical Requirements: Light to moderate lifting, bending, and moving event supplies
