What is Love INC of Greater Hershey?

Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) is a local non-profit dedicated to mobilizing churches to serve our neighbors in need. We act as a bridge, connecting people who have a need with a network of local churches and volunteers who can provide compassionate, practical help. We don't just offer a handout; we build relationships and empower individuals to overcome challenges. Here are some of the ministries Love INC provides:

A Delicious Tradition Continues: Pies!

As many of you know, our event began as the "Love INC Pie Auction," a sweet tradition that we've kept alive! While our auction has grown, we are thrilled to feature an amazing selection of homemade pies, cakes, and other delicious treats lovingly baked by our dedicated volunteers and community members. Get ready to bid on these mouth-watering items—perfect for your next family gathering or as a special treat!

Arranging Item Pickup (Winning Bidders)

At the conclusion of the auction, you will be notifed about arrangements for pick-up or delivery of your winning item(s):

🧁 Bakers will contact winners within a week to coordinate a mutually argeeable date and time for perishable food items
🧺 All tangible, non-perishable Items will be available for pick-up at the Love INC office

$26 Personal Care Closet: Help 5 Families

As we roll into cold and flu season, your donation of $26 will provide a month's worth of care and cleaning supplies—including tissues, hand soap, hand sanitizer, and household cleaner—for five families we serve through our Personal Care Closet, helping them stay healthy during the toughest months.

$48 Personal Care Closet: Help Stock the Shelves

The Personal Care Closet provides essential items that many families can’t afford and that are not covered by food stamps. We partner with local food banks to offer everything from toothpaste and laundry detergent to diapers and paper towels, making sure our neighbors have what they need to stay clean, healthy, and safe.

While we are incredibly grateful for the generous donations from our community, the need often outpaces the supply. We frequently have to purchase items in bulk to fill our shelves and ensure no family goes without these basic necessities. Your $48 contribution will stock a month's worth of toothpaste for the families we serve, a small but vital item that promotes good hygiene.

$96 Parsonage: Hot Shower Access

The Parsonage Ministry provides a "home away from home" for families who have traveled more than 50 miles to be with a loved one receiving care at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. We offer a place of comfort and rest during a difficult time, providing a peaceful retreat at no cost to qualified families.

Your donation of $96 will cover the cost of water at both of our Parsonage homes for one month. Access to clean water is a basic necessity, and your gift ensures that families staying with us have one less thing to worry about. By covering this essential utility, you are helping us provide a supportive, secure, and comfortable environment for those who need it most.

$137 Homes of Hope: Access to Internet

The Homes of Hope program provides safe, stable housing and a community of support for families working to overcome homelessness and achieve financial independence. It's more than just a place to live—it's a structured program that equips participants with the tools and resources they need to build a brighter future for themselves and their children.

Your donation of $137 will cover the cost of internet service for both of our Homes of Hope for one month. In today's world, reliable internet access is not a luxury, but a necessity. It's a critical tool that allows residents to search for jobs, complete online courses, access vital community resources, and stay connected with their support systems. Your gift ensures they have the technology they need to succeed on their journey towards permanent housing.

$219 Connection Center: Phone Service for 1 month

The Connection Center is the heart of Love INC. It's the first stop for people in our community who are facing challenges and seeking help. When someone calls, a compassionate volunteer is there to listen, understand their needs, and connect them with a local church or agency that can provide support.

Your donation of $219 will cover the cost of the Connection Center's telephone bill for one month. This support ensures we can continue to be a vital lifeline for individuals and families in the Hershey, Hummelstown, and Elizabethtown area, making sure no call for help goes unanswered.

$897 Car Repair Ministry

For many families working toward stability, a reliable vehicle is the key to holding a job, getting children to school, and accessing essential services. When a car breaks down, it can trigger a crisis, threatening a family's progress and independence.

Your impactful gift of $897 will cover the average cost of a safety and reliability-related car repair for a family in our program. The Car Repair Ministry is a crucial, cost-sharing partnership that helps neighbors pay for essentials like brakes, tires, or a new battery. By covering this cost, you directly ensure that a family can keep their wheels turning, maintain their employment, and continue their journey toward long-term financial stability. This is a gift of mobility, security, and hope.
