Cati Shack Golf Tournament brings together local businesses, golfers, families, and community supporters for a day of purpose and partnership. Live Like Cati  was founded in response to the death of six year old Cati Delapeña  who on June 5, 2019, tragically drowned while under the care of  High Hopes summer camp in Cedar Park, Texas.  

Her Parents Kori and John Delapeña founded Live Like Cati to honor her life and protect others. They have become leading advocates for strengthening water safety laws across Texas. During the 88th Texas Legislature, they successfully helped pass HB59. Implemented in September 2023, Cati’s Law establishes child water safety requirements for organizations that supervise children under 12 during activities involving bodies of water, including pools, water parks, lakes, or rivers (excluding wading pools under 18 inches). 

Through their non-profit, they strive to prevent childhood drownings, expanding access to life-saving water safety education, equipping youth-serving organizations through training, providing life jackets to children and families, and advocating for evidence-based policies that strengthen water safety practices across Texas.

Live Like Cati is a qualified tax - exempt organization, as defined in Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
