Led by Harvey DuChene, this beginner-friendly session explores the geology of the Lake City area and teaches you how to identify common rocks and minerals along the Alpine Loop. Through a hands-on approach, you’ll gain practical skills for future hikes while developing a deeper understanding of the forces that shaped Colorado’s rugged landscape.

• $40 for adults, $25 for youth aged 11 - 15.
• No children under 11 years old.
• Participants will learn about the geology near Lake City and how to identify common rocks & minerals found around the Alpine Loop.
