At Keep Knoxville Beautiful, our mission is to inspire and empower Knox County communities to improve their quality of life through beautification and environmental stewardship.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful was established in 1978 prior to the 1982 World's Fair to prepare Knoxville for the influx of visitors. Knoxville was about to be put on the world stage yet it had been deemed the Scruffy City by the Wall Street Journal. Today, we not only focus on what our visitors see, but also on a higher quality of life for our citizens which include cleaner, safer streets, waterways, and neighborhoods.
