Baptist Community Center Mission is a force for good for our neighbors in East Austin and city-wide. BCCM offers free fresh food year-round, and they have a clothing closet that offers gently worn clothing items at an affordable cost. Additionally, they offer life skills classes, family assistance, and summer children's ministry for our neighbors at-risk of homelessness.
For this Care Day, volunteers will support Baptist Community Center Mission’s clothing program by helping fold, sort, and pack clothing as they prepare for a seasonal transition. This Care Day will have two components. Five volunteers will serve at the distribution location on East 2nd Street, packing winter clothing to be sent to the storage facility. The remaining five volunteers will serve at the storage facility on South Riverside, packing spring clothing to be sent to the distribution location.
Once everything is ready, two volunteers will be needed to use their personal vehicles to transport clothing between locations. After transport, volunteers will help unload the clothing to ensure it is ready to serve our neighbors.
Please contact Kim McCorkle, Development and Outreach Director, if you have any questions.
Thank you so much for dedicating your time to our community!
