Join Ryman Arts for a special afternoon celebrating the legacy of artist and designer Herbert D. Ryman, whose vision helped bring Disneyland to life and whose commitment to mentorship continues to inspire generations of young artists. Together, the screening and conversation will honor the artistry, imagination, and craftsmanship at the heart of both Disneyland and Ryman Arts.
The afternoon will begin with a cocktail reception at the Bowers Museum, followed by a private screening of Disneyland Handcrafted, the feature documentary directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks and produced by Mark Catalena, exploring the artists and craftspeople behind the creation of Disneyland.
Following the screening, Tim O'Day (Disney historian, author, and public relations executive) will moderate a conversation featuring Mark Catalena (Producer, Disneyland Handcrafted), Tom Morris (former Walt Disney Imagineering Executive), and Emo O'Brien (Walt Disney Imagineering creative producer). Joshua You (Ryman '19), Concept Artist for Walt Disney Imagineering, will introduce the discussion exploring the collaboration and mentorship behind the creation of imaginative stories and worlds.

Proceeds support Ryman Arts, which offers tuition-free arts education, supplies, transportation, mentorship, and college and career guidance for young artists across Southern California.
