The inaugural Grizzly Cornhole tournament is intended to be a 16 team tournment.

• Single elimination bracket (include bracket). - In the first round there will be 3 games.
• The tournament starts at 10:00 with four teams competing in the first heat.
• All teams need to be present at 9:45 for a review of tournament play
• Entrance gates will open at 9:30
• If your team fails to show up or start your game within 5 minutes of start time you will be disqualified. Cornhole Rules:

• Scoring: According to traditional rules, the game is played until one team reaches or exceeds 21 points. The team who first reaches 21 points wins.No penalty for going over 21 points. Scoring is calculated at the end of each round. Round (or frame) is considered to be completed once all cornhole bags are thrown.

  Scoring breakdown:

  Bag goes directly in the hole = 3 points Bag was on the surface and ended in the hole after being hit by another bag = 3 points  Bag stays on cornhole board surface = 1 point Bag is almost in the hole (hanging a bit in) = 1 point  Bag hanging on the edge of a cornhole board but not touching the ground = 1 point Bag is on the board but is touching the ground (this bag needs to be removed before continuing the game) = 0 points  Also if a bag is on the board but is touching a bag that is already off the surface = 0 points

• Prizes: - Registration fees will be divided in half.  One half will support the fundraiser the other half will go toward prizes. The first-place team will receive 60% of the entitled registration fees.  The second-place team will receive 30% of the entitled registration fees.  Third place will receive 10% of entitled registration fees. 

The tournament will be held in the courtyard of Glenn High School.  In the case of inclement weather we will hold the tournament in the school's small gym.  The tournament date is Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10:00 - 2:00 PM.   All teams must be signed in by 9:45AM and ready to play by 10AM. Teams not at their bag court will be eliminated after 5 minutes.

• Each bag on the box = 1 point
• Each bag in the hole = 3 points
• Any bags touching the ground or “bounced” onto the box do not count and are to be removed prior to the next bag being thrown by the opposing team.
• Total points for each team are calculated using only those points that were not canceled out.
  -Example:
  *Team 1 throws 1 bag in the hole and 3 bags land on the box for a total of 6 points;
  *Team 2 throws 1 bag in the hole and 2 bags land on the box for a total of 5 points;
  *Then Team 1 receives 1 point for that round.
• The team who scores last will have the first throw of the next round.
• A score of 21 points or more will be declared the winner. A tie will require extra innings until a winner is decided. All games go to 21 or more to win. Scorekeepers and judges will be walking around to aid at any time.
