A Celebration of Courage, Culture, and Community.

Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) invites you to join us for Taste of the World 2026, an evening that celebrates the courage of immigrant survivors, the cultures that enrich our communities, and the collective commitment that makes justice possible.

GAIN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that protects and empowers immigrant survivors of crime and persecution—including asylum seekers and survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault—through legal services and wraparound support that help families find safety and stability.

Each year, Taste of the World unites prominent leaders, changemakers, and supporters from Atlanta’s legal and corporate communities for an unforgettable evening in support of this work. Guests enjoy global cuisine, vibrant networking, and an exciting silent auction—all while helping raise essential unrestricted funds that allow GAIN to respond to the moment and stand beside those seeking safety and justice.

As May 8 fast approaches, we are thrilled to announce that WABE reporter, Emily Wu Pearson, will be our featured guest speaker at this year’s Taste of the World!

Emily Wu Pearson is the Immigration and Communities Reporter and Saturday morning host for WABE 90.1 Atlanta. Sometimes, that looks like tagging along with entrepreneurs and artists bringing their life experiences to the rich fabric of the city. Other times, that looks like sitting with people who are willing to share their difficult, traumatic journeys here and the chaotic systems they face as they try to acclimate. Telling these stories in Atlanta, the city with a deep, inextricable culture of civil rights and justice, is a privilege she sees as an evolution of Atlanta into a home for newcomers to the country.

Emily’s recent coverage of immigrant detention in Georgia highlighted several of GAIN’s attorneys and dedicated volunteers as they work to ensure justice for immigrant survivors in Folkston and Stewart Detention Centers, and shed light on an inhumane system that many people don’t realize is operating in our backyards. We can’t think of a better person than Emily to welcome our guests!
