DemoChicks Breaking Barriers Awards and 5th Anniversary Celebration

Join our Fifth Anniversary Fundraising event, as we award scholarships to college students pursuing careers in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) fields and recognize dynamic women leaders in historically non-traditional careers.  

IN-PERSON RECEPTION AND DINNER - 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Our uniquely curated experience will include an IN-PERSON reception and dinner held in Long Beach for our DemoScholars, Breaking Barriers honorees and sponsors.

DemoChicks understands that it is within our power to address the learning gap and disparity of women in ACE careers. But it requires investment in both education and opportunities for girls and women.

Supporting DemoChicks offers the opportunity to play an important role in harnessing the promise and possibility of young women and girls of color. DemoChicks empowers young women and girls who represent diversity in age, country of origin, industry sector, and education level. We also aim to specifically engage girls and women of color who are drastically underrepresented in STEM and ACE fields. As a sponsor, you will be recognized as a company that cares about the well-being of this community and the expansion of all our Signature Programs to broaden our reach to more girls and women. Rising to the Meet the Pandemic Moment.

In 2020, DemoChicks pivoted our DemoChicks On-Location training online to supplement students’ needs during virtual learning where many schools focused solely on Math and English Language Arts. In 2023, as schools reopen, DemoChicks’ programming will help address STEM-oriented learning loss by providing quality supplemental and co-curricular instruction. Additionally, the pandemic highlighted the pervasiveness of women and women of color’s concentration in low-wage, service work which increased their vulnerability to the coronavirus. DemoChicks’ programming addresses this opportunity gap by creating a pipeline for women in high-earning 21st Century STEM and ACE careers. DemoChicks educational and mentorship programming will help facilitate long-term pandemic recovery by increasing women’s economic opportunity in growing career fields.
