2:00 PM ET

As dramaturgically-minded artists, we’re often called upon to document the work and processes of others – but what about our own? This workshop will explore the art of documenting your own practice — whether for personal reflection, portfolio building, grant applications, or social media engagement. Participants will learn practical techniques for writing about their work, capturing high-quality images, organizing their archives, and leveraging documentation for professional opportunities.

About the Speaker:

Yasmin Zacaria Mikhaiel (she/they) is a Chicago-based arts journalist, oral historian, cultural producer, and dramaturg. As a queer, fat, Iranian-American femme, they endeavor to amplify and archive stories that go lost/stolen/forgotten. Their praxis across producing live and digital media centers audience experience that is community-focused, responsive, and vibrant.

They serve as VP of Freelance for the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, teach as adjunct faculty at The Theatre School at DePaul University, and produce cultural events with Salon Kawaib and BIYA BIYA Productions in Chicago. Learn more at yasminzacaria.com.
