Join the Advocates Today to make a difference!
Advocates for The 24 is a dedicated group of individuals committed to strengthening a community of recovery, support, and fellowship for Residents and alumni of Dallas 24 Hour Club. Through annual service projects and special events, Advocates have the opportunity to provide meaningful care and connection and make a direct difference in the lives of those we serve.

Each year, Advocates lead four service projects, including:
- Welcome Kits
- Resident Toy Market
- Holiday Stockings
- Tillman House Move-Out Gifts
Membership dues help fund these projects, allowing us to continue providing tangible support and encouragement to our Residents as they rebuild their lives and embrace sobriety. Join us today and become part of a community dedicated to hope, healing, and lasting recovery.
Advocates Chair: Tami Darlington

With several years of hands-on experience in the Dallas recovery scene, Tami is deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and building a strong community for those striving to overcome substance abuse. As the chair of the Advocates for the Dallas 24 Hour Club, Tami actively contributes to the mission of the organization, working to cultivate a broader network of Advocates willing to invest their time and resources in meaningful ways to support The 24's initiatives.
I first came to The 24 in 2019 with my sponsor, who was on the board at the time, and I immediately felt the impact of this incredible community. Since then, I've been blessed to return time and again to serve behind the scenes, watching the lives of Residents transform. Joining the Advocates program has been an amazing opportunity to give back to those who are embracing recovery, and I am excited to lead a group that is so dedicated to making a lasting difference. Together, we are building a brighter future for those who need it most. — Tami Darlington, Chair
Advocates Member Service Projects:
Welcome Kits — Residents often arrive with very few belongings, and it can take time for them to get on their feet. Creating Welcome Kits—stocked with essentials like mini bottles of shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste and more—is a simple yet meaningful way to support New Residents. Both individuals and corporations have generously contributed these kits in the past, and they play a vital role in helping newcomers feel settled. The Advocates assemble these kits each year in February and March.
Resident Toy Market — For several years, The 24 has hosted a Resident Toy Market with support from the community. Many of our Residents are parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles who, due to years of hardship, have been unable to provide gifts for their loved ones. The Toy Market allows Residents to “shop” for presents and wrap them, giving them a joyful opportunity to reconnect with family and celebrate together.
Resident Stockings — Holidays in early recovery can be especially difficult, as many Residents’ families have not yet welcomed them back home. At The 24, we help bridge this gap by filling the house with holiday spirit. Each Resident receives a stocking filled with treats and small gifts, bringing warmth and a sense of family to the season.
Tillman House Move-Out Gifts — As Residents at Tillman House transition to independent living, they often face the challenge of furnishing a new room or apartment, since most essentials were provided during their stay. Move-Out Gifts allow Residents to select one important item—such as bedding, kitchenware, a lamp or other household necessities—up to $50, easing the transition and helping them start their next chapter with confidence.
