Meet the 2026 Sunburst Gala Chairs

Scott & Mark Barr
Scott and Mark have been part of the Cancer Support Community for many years, drawn to the organization by its mission and continually inspired by the compassion, strength, and sense of community it provides to individuals and families impacted by cancer. Cancer has touched their lives in profound and personal ways—Scott lost his mother to the disease, and both have lost close friends to cancer. These experiences have reinforced their belief in the importance of compassionate, comprehensive support for patients and caregivers alike.
Scott serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Cancer Support Community, reflecting his long-standing commitment to the organization and its mission. Professionally, Scott is an executive at a technology company, while Mark is a compliance executive at a national health insurance company, bringing a healthcare-informed perspective to their shared dedication to this work.
Together for more than 23 years, Scott and Mark have built a life grounded in family, service, and shared values. They reside in Northern Virginia with their two children, Taylor and Sebastian, and are honored to serve as the 2026 Sunburst Gala Chairs in support of Cancer Support Community’s mission to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.
