Imagine arriving in an unfamiliar city, facing a language barrier, and lacking basic transportation. Refugees are required to secure employment within six months of their arrival, a significant challenge without reliable transport. This is where Bike Walk Wichita steps in. We don't just provide bikes; we offer a pathway to independence.
Bike Walk Wichita, a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit, is proud to announce our participation in the annual Ride4Refugees event on September 20th and 21st! This incredible fundraiser, started by Hope Community Church in Andover, KS, directly supports vital local refugee programs.
Our team of four dedicated riders will embark on a challenging 24-hour journey, alternating as they cycle from the Colorado border to the Missouri border. This demanding event perfectly aligns with Bike Walk Wichita's core mission: providing essential bicycles and crucial safety education to refugees arriving in our community through our esteemed partner, the International Rescue Committee.

Your donation empowers us to:
-
Provide Safe, Reliable Transportation: Bicycles enable refugees to access job opportunities, attend community services, purchase essential supplies, and get to school.
-
Deliver Vital Safety Education: We ensure new riders are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate our city safely, fostering confidence and self-sufficiency.
-
Bridge the Gap to Employment: With a bicycle, refugees can reach and retain employment, fulfilling a critical requirement for their new lives.
Join us in making a tangible difference in the lives of our new neighbors. Every dollar helps us put more refugees on bikes, empowering them to thrive in their new home. Thank you for your support!
