Tour de Wichita Volunteering - Event Day
Volunteers are the backbone of our Wichita event, and we need people to make the day a success. We have volunteer opportunities for:

Place route directional signs along the Urban Bike Route
Set up area and bicycle racks for participants to use in temporarily storing their bicycle during the event.
Assist in disembling the bike racks. It is easy, it doesn't require any tools. Once disembled, then put racks in bags provided.
Event Set up. Some need to meet at Bike Walk Wichita, at 9:30 AM. Transport items from BWW to Boathouse, (tents, tables, signage, coolers, water, poweraid, food, bike corrals, t-shirts, merch, swag, etc). Then to take over to The Wichita Boathouse. Setup at the Boathouse.
Assist w/needs (get buns ready, transport grill to serving area).
Assist w/grill needs, help cook food. Eventually assist in tearing down and packing up grill. Grill POC will be advising.
Greet participant arrivals. Direct them on how to check in.
Answer questions, Take Day of Registrations, assist Lost & Found, first aid. Brief will be provided when you arrive.
Take photos during the event. Photographers can choose their times. Anyone can submit photos to photos@bikewalkwichtia.org, and you consent to the FREE use of your photos by Bike Walk Wichita and Great Plains Diabetes. Additionally, you can upload any photos to the shared Tour de Wichita photo album.

Lead the cyclists on the Route. Some leaders may need to "fall-back" to help riders stay on course.
Meet at The Wichita Boathouse venue. The volunteers locate at a pre-designated spot along the bicycle route, to assist riders with directions.
2 people will be assigned a section of the route to check for litter and pick up the directional route signs.
Load up tents, left over drinks, etc. and deliver to BWW.
