Tour de Wichita Volunteering - Event Day
Volunteers are the backbone of our Wichita event, and we need people to make the day a success. We have volunteer opportunities for:

Place route directional signs along the Urban Bike Route
Set up area and bicycle racks for participants to use in temporarily storing their bicycle during the event.
Event Set up. Some need to meet at Bike Walk Wichita, at 8:00 AM. To help load up all coolers, cases of water, boxes of snacks, and shirts, etc. then to take over to The Wichita Boathouse. Setup at the Boathouse will start at 9 am.
Answer questions, Take Day of Registrations, assist Lost & Found, first aid. Brief will be provided when you arrive.
Assist w/needs (get buns ready, transport grill to serving area).
Take photos during the event. Photographers can choose their times. Anyone can submit photos to photos@bikewalkwichtia.org, and you consent to the FREE use of your photos by Bike Walk Wichita and Great Plains Diabetes..

Additionally, you can upload any photos to the shared Tour de Wichita photo album.
Lead the cyclists on the Route. Some leaders may need to "fall-back" to help riders stay on course.
Meet at The Wichita Boathouse venue. The volunteers locate at a pre-designated spot along the bicycle route, to assist riders with directions.
Assist w/grill needs, (get buns ready, transport grill to serving are, etc.)
2 people will be assigned a section of the route to check for litter and pick up the route signs.
Load up tents, left over drinks, etc. and deliver to BWW.
Assist in dismantling the bike racks and putting in a pile.
