Beavers Northwest will be hosting a nature walk at The Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands/Be'er Sheva Park on Tuesday June 17th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm!
Participants will meet Beavers Northwest staff at the bathrooms near the boat launch in Be'er Sheva Park at 7:00pm. Free parking is available at the boat launch (8702 Seward Park Ave S, Seattle, WA). Beavers Northwest staff will lead attendees on a walk to explore beaver impacts at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, and provide context on the beaver presence at the park. This is a great opportunity to see the impacts that beavers have on ecosystems, observe the plants and wildlife that thrive in beaver-modified systems, and discuss beaver coexistence in our human-modified ecosystems.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours and participants will travel a distance of approximately 0.5 miles on flat gravel trails. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. For best viewing of wildlife, we recommend bringing binoculars. We will have a few pairs available to borrow.
