For our 2023 Day of Service, MPS will be partnering with Wreaths Across America, which exists to remember our fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach children the value of freedom.
On December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), Wreaths Across America will be at Van Alstyne Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
Our team will be participating in the following ways:
- Collecting donations for wreaths the week of the event, wreaths are $15 each
- Attending a wreath-laying ceremony at Van Alstyne Cemetery
There is NO limit on how many can attend. Please consider signing up your family and friends to join.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
