Haint's Haunting by Alan Campbell
Haint's Haunting by Alan Campbell Signed and numbered print of Watercolor created for Ossabaw:  Evocations of an Island, published by the University of Georgia Press (now out of print), featuring narrative essays by James Kilgo, striking photography by Jack Leigh, and artwork by Alan Campbell.  This is the middle tabby cabin located on Ossabaw Island's north end.  This was painted prior to the Ossabaw Island Foundation's 2005 Save America's Treasures grant to restore the building to its 1840s condition.  For more than four decades, Alan Campbell has combined art, exploration, and environmental stewardship in a career that has taken him to some of the most remote places on Earth. An environmental and expedition artist based in Savannah and Athens, Georgia, Campbell is known for creating paintings that capture the spirit and atmosphere of extraordinary landscapes. He has spent years painting Georgia’s barrier islands and documenting the landscapes and cultural heritage of the Lowcountry. Renowned for his masterful use of color, light, and luminosity, Campbell creates paintings that evoke a profound sense of place and invite viewers into the wonder of the natural world. Alan began his career as an Ossabaw Island Project member and credits Sandy West with encouraging him to focus on painting his native State of Georgia.
