The Howell Nature Center’s Wildlife Rehabilitation and Nature Education Programs are the largest of their kind in Michigan. In 2021, we have already cared for thousands of injured and/or orphaned wildlife, while providing an array of nature programs for children throughout the region. Our Wild Wonders Wildlife Park was created as a forever home for over 75 permanently injured wildlife ambassadors who would otherwise not be able to survive in the wild.
Due to the nationwide health crisis, like many non-profit organizations, Howell Nature Center has experienced tremendous financial hardship. Centered on compassion and dedication, our wildlife care services and nature education programs could not happen without the tremendous support the Nature Center receives from the community. Through your support, we can foster a profound appreciation for nature, while teaching our community how to live in harmony with our Michigan native wildlife. We need your help to continue being a sanctuary where wildlife, children and our community can Heal, Grow, and Be Wild!

You can provide toys/treats, called "enrichment," for our animal ambassadors in the Wild Wonders Wildlife Park! Enrichment can includeCatnip, puzzle feeders, animal-safe paint, tasty treats, bones, and more.
For $50, you can cover the cost of a day at nature camp for a child from a low-income home. Without camperships like this, many children from underserved communities would miss out on the benefits of camp!
Help cover the cost of feeding the many dozens of baby opossums in our clinic for a day!
Help cover the costs of our Wildlife Clinic by purchasing a week's worth of medicine for our wildlife patients.
Most hawks end up in our Wildlife Clinic after being struck by a vehicle. They often require months of intensive care, with medicine, food, and fresh bedding provided daily. This would be followed by weeks of physical therapy. You can fund the care for a single hawk for its entire stay!
