About the Tournament
Since 2004, the Bob Soltero Golf Tournament has brought our community together to raise funds for scholarships and support Guadalupe Centers’ mission-based programs and services. This year, we’re excited to visit Staley Farms Golf Club for a full day of fun, competition, and connection—all while investing in education and opportunity for our youth and families.

Honoring Bob Soltero
Bob Soltero, born November 5, 1927, grew up on Kansas City’s West Side and faced discrimination early in life. At 17, he enlisted in the Navy during WWII. After serving, Bob returned to KC, married Carmen Tinoco, and worked in the restaurant business. Bob served on the Guadalupe Centers board for over a decade, supporting our culinary arts program and high school. He was also a dedicated volunteer and a passionate golfer, caddying in his youth and working over 20 years at Swope Park Golf Course. This tournament is named in his honor, keeping his legacy of service and community alive.
