When Carson wasn't long for this world, he announced that he wanted to leave "something remarkable behind" and asked to visit Reid at Ray's Sporting Goods. It didn't take him long to zero in on this 24K (gold plated) Desert Eagle, three days before he took his last breath, Carson walked out of Ray's, the Young Man with the Golden Gun.

By that time, his frail body was waaay too weak to shoot his beast of a gun, but look at that smile, he was sure proud of his purchase! Never having the chance to shoot his Golden Gun, we invite you to shoot the Young Man's Golden Gun, at our annual Young Man with the Golden Gun Clay Shoot to raise funds honoring his last whispered wish, "study those those tumors in my brain .. and help the next kid with cancer."

Summer 2017, Charlie Williams moved to Dallas with his family and was eager to meet new people. Although Charlie had never shot clays before, he had a mind for physics, calculus, a tremendous work ethic and quickly found a place on his school's clay team. Welcome to Texas Charlie!

Just few months into school, an emergency visit to Children’s Health, Dallas, Charlie was diagnosed with cancer. “I went to the hospital thinking I would be home in time for dinner. I didn’t have anything with me. Then a nurse handed me a Carson Leslie Foundation Under Armour backpack. Inside was a pair of super soft pajamas, a blanket, an overnight kit, a journal, a Rubik's Cube, gum and lots of other cool stuff” says Charlie crediting the Carson Leslie Foundation, "for being my life line when I needed one!"

“I worked with my surgeon to place my chemo port on the left side so it wouldn’t be affected by the shotgun." explained Charlie who has agreed to serve as Honorary Chairman of the Young Man with the Golden Gun Clay Shoot!
