Africa Sustaining Angels is dedicated to a vital mission – providing essential funding to empower children at Shelter Children’s Home with access to higher education opportunities. Our goal is to unlock doors to brighter futures for these young, promising minds.
We invite you to be a part of this wonderful cause by joining the Africa Sustaining Angels for a memorable evening of sipping and savoring African wines. Let your taste buds travel to Africa as you explore the flavors of this remarkable region.
Our special guest for the evening is Mary Muiruri, the Executive Director of Shelter Children's Home. Mary will share exciting updates about the shelter, including their sustainability projects and the educational achievements of the students. With a growing number of children becoming eligible for higher education, the associated expenses have surged. But our determination remains unwavering – to empower each child towards a lifetime of success.
This event is free, but we request that you register in advance so we can ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.
ABOUT "AFRICA SUSTAINING ANGELS"
Africa Sustaining Angels started when a group of friends visited Shelter Children’s Home in Kenya. The shelter provides a home and education for children who were abandoned, neglected and / or abused. Inspired by the amazing work of the Director, Mary Muiruri, we formed a volunteer committee called “Africa Sustaining Angels”.
ABOUT SHELTER CHILDREN’S HOME
Shelter Children's Home, located in Ngong, Kenya, provides care and education for aproximately150 kids who were abandoned, neglected and / or abused. Initially the shelter was 100% dependent on donations to support the children’s needs. Then HRS TrueHope stepped in and created a new operating model driven by sustainability initiatives, which generate revenue and reduces operating expenses. Today the shelter cares for 150 children and is 75% self-sufficient based on the success of our sustainability projects and program.
