Planning is underway for the Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary Annual Howl-O-Ween Family Fest! This year’s event marks the kick-off of our 10th year of saving senior dogs! We look forward to sharing this milestone with all of our friends and supporters and thanking you for being part of our journey.

This year, our signature event will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 12-5PM. This event page will be updated as event elements and schedules are locked in for this year. Check back often!

SEE BELOW FOR ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Can I bring my own chair or blanket?
While we provide tables and chairs and hay bales for seating near the main stage, you are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.
2. Will there be handicapped parking available or help for those with mobility issues?
Designated handicapped parking spaces will be available for those with a handicap placard. Additionally there will be an ATV available to help transport anyone with mobility issues that make walking from the parking field difficult.
3. Are dogs allowed at this event?
Well socialized dogs are welcome at the event. Dogs must be leashed (not longer than 6ft leash, no retractable leashes) at all times and you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet.
4. Are children allowed at this event?
Children are welcome at the event but should be supervised at all times. Children are not permitted to climb on the farm equipment, are not allowed in the beer garden and should be respectful when approaching unfamiliar dogs.
5. How does the beer garden work?
You must be 21 to enter the beer garden. ID’s will be checked at entry and a wrist band will be applied. Drink purchases are limited to 2 drinks per transaction (beer or wine). Drinks must be consumed within the beer garden. Please drink responsibly. Marty’s place reserves the right to refuse service.
6. How do I register for the K9 contests (Costume, Talent, Pie Eating)?
There is no advance registration for these activities. You can register in person when you arrive at the event. Please check the schedule of events for registration and event times. The pie eating contest has a limited number of dogs allowed in each weight category (sm, med, L, XL).
7. How do I register for the mini swim sessions?
There is no advance registration for the mini swim sessions. You can register in person when you arrive at the event. Signs ups are handled by 4Paws Adrift staff next to the pool building entrance.
Please note proof of rabies vaccine is required to participate in a mini swim session.
8. What types of payment are you taking (Zelle, Venmo, etc.)?
50-50 tickets are cash only. Cash is preferred for entry fee. Elsewhere in the event cash, credit card, Venmo, Zelle and PayPal will be accepted.
9. Must I be present to win the 50-50 or Super Basket Raffle?
You need not be present to win the 50-50 drawing (3 winners this year!).
Also, this year you do not need to be present to win the “Super Basket” raffle! You must, however, be able to return within 7 days to pick up your winnings.
10. Is this event rain or shine? How will I know if the event is cancelled?
There is no rain date for this event. In the event of inclement weather (rain/wind), a decision will be made on whether the event will go forward as planned or be cancelled. Notices will be placed on the event page, on the Marty’s Place website, and on our social media platforms.
11. Will I be able to tour the sanctuary or interact with the Marty’s Place dogs?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sanctuary tours during this event. You are able to schedule a personal tour of the sanctuary for another day/time by contacting our Volunteer and Outreach coordinator Eileen Ready: Eileen@martysplace.org
The Marty’s Place resident dogs will be out and about during the event handled by staff and volunteers. They will also be introduced at the start of the K9 Costume Contest. In addition, quite a few Marty’s Place alumni (Foster and Adopted) attend the event.
