Tools for Success is our annual back-to-school celebration where we unite our community to support foster and at-risk youth as they prepare for a new school year. Through fun activities and meaningful connection, we build relationships and remind these kids they're not alone. Each child receives a backpack filled with essential school supplies to help them start the year confident and prepared. 

We are seeking two sponsors to help us reach our $20,000 goal for next year's event. Your support will directly impact the success, confidence, and future of Arizona's youth.

One Bright Star is a heartwarming holiday event that brings the joy of Christmas to foster youth who are often forgotten during the season. Held at a local bowling alley, the event includes fun, community, and personalized gifts chosen from each child's wish list. 

We are looking for five generous sponsors to help us reach our 25,000 goal and ensure every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated. Your support will help make next year's Christmas truly unforgettable for Arizona's foster youth.

For young adults who have aged out of foster care or are living fully independently, the transition into adulthood can be both exciting and overwhelming. At this stage, they are responsible for ALL of their living expenses, without the support of a guardian or a system to fall back on. Many leave care at age 21 with little more than what they can carry. 

OCJ Kids is here to walk with them into independence. 

Through our Transitional Suitcase Sponsorship, we provide a one-time supply of essential items designed to create a more stable and hopeful living environment as they begin life on their own. 

Each phase three suitcase includes:

• Personal hygiene products
• Cups, plates, and bowls
• Twin air mattress and sheet set
• Quilt or blanket and pillow
• Towel set
• Shower curtain and hooks
• Life Skills Magazine
• Walmart gift card
• 31-day bus pass for transportation to and from work, school, or appointments

Our 2026 Goal: Sponsor 15 young adults with $2500 at $160 per suitcase to reach our goal of $10,000. Help us support these incredible young adults as they take their final step out of foster care and into self-sufficiency. Sponsor a suitcase. Fuel their future.

Our Welcome Kits provide essential hygiene items and comfort to foster youth in group homes, many of whom arrive with little to nothing of their own. Each kit includes shampoo, a toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, underwear, body wash, a night light, and more. 

We distribute about 200 kits every month, offering dignity and care during a critical time in each child's life. We are currently seeking 20 sponsors to help us reach our $20,000 goal for 2026, which will provide hygiene essentials for 1,000 children. 

Your support brings comfort, confidence, and a message that these kids are not forgotten.

When a child is removed from their home, it's often sudden and traumatic. Our Go Kits provide immediate comfort and dignity in that critical moment. Given to DCS caseworkers, each kit includes a clean set of pajamas, diapers or underwear, wipes in all sizes, and a $5 gift card to help provide a hot meal for the child. 

Each kit costs around $400 for 24 children, and tonight, we invite you to help us raise and reach our next year's goal of $20,000.

Let's see how many children we can care for together, because no child should face difficult transitions without comfort, dignity, and warmth.

Ex: If you owe $2,000 in Arizona state income tax and donate $1,234 to a QFCO (Qualified Foster Care Organization) like OCJ Kids, you will only owe $766. You are just redirecting your tax dollar from the state to a local cause you care about. 

Also, you can combine with other credits- you can donate to QFCO, public/private school, and receive a separate credit for each.

The interact Project is designed to support foster youth and their healing journey by addressing trauma and building essential developmental skills. Through a thoughtful process of evaluation, we meet each child where they are and provide activities that focus on both fine and gross motor skills, while also encouraging creativity, resilience, and self-expression. 

This unique program is made possible through our partnership with NAUs Doctoral students that are in occupational therapy program. Together, they help us design interactive magazines and specialized  ”Interact Boxes"  filled with tools and activities tailored to each child needs. These resources not only bring joy but also foster growth, confidence, and new coping strategies.
